Full steam ahead for Full House spin-off
When John Stamos appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday he revealed that Netflix had officially ordered 13 episodes of a revival of the 90s hit TV sitcom. The revival will kick off with a one hour Tanner family reunion special. The Full House spin-off entitled Fuller House will center around the eldest of the Tanner children, a recently widowed D.J. Tanner-Fuller [Candace Cameron Bure], who is now a veterinarian and expecting her third child. Her sister, Stephanie [Jodie Sweetin] and childhood friend Kimmy Gibbler [Andrea Barber] move in with D.J. to help her raise her two young sons, 12-year-old J.D. and 7-year-old, Max. "Literally five minutes ago they called and they sealed the deal" Stamos said on Kimmel's late night talk show. Discussions about the appearances of other former cast members including Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin, David Coulier, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are still ongoing. The spin-off is set to debut in 2016.

Everybody Loves Raymond star dead at 19
Sawyer Storm Sweeten, who played the role of Geoffrey Barone on the popular sitcom, Everybody Loves Raymond died today a few weeks short of his 20th birthday. His death is a suspected suicide. Sweeten was visiting his family in Texas on Thursday when he allegedly shot himself on the front porch of the family home. Sawyer, his twin brother Sullivan Sky Sweeten and his older sister, Madylin Sweeten all starred in Everybody Loves Raymond from 1996-2005 as the children of Raymond and Debra Barone [Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton]. Dino May, Sweeten's manager released a statement. "This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love" the statement read. Ray Romano has commented on the tragedy on Thursday. "I'm shocked and terribly saddened by the news about Sawyer. He was a wonderful and sweet kid to be around. My heart breaks for him, his family and friends at this very difficult time" he said. Co-star Patricia Heaton expressed her condolences via social media. "Sawyer was a funny and exceptionally bright young man. He is gone from us far too soon". Everybody Loves Raymond creator, Phil Rosenthal also shared his grief over Sawyer's death. "We knew and loved Sawyer as a little boy. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star walked out of her interview with Dr.Phil on Tuesday. The TV doctor asked her about her recent arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Reports from the Beverly Hills Police Department say that the reality TV star was being aggressive and refused to leave the restaurant inside the hotel. Richards then reportedly refused to leave the restaurant's bathroom, and security then issued a private citizen's arrest. "Are you living a lie, telling everybody 'I've been sober for three years?" Dr.Phil asked Richards. Richards was then joined by her children for the interview. "Is this an intervention?" she asks before getting emotional and says "I'm sorry I can't". With those words the 50-year-old former child actress stormed out of the interview.

Movie Review: The Longest Ride

Photo from: The Longest Ride Facebook page

Star Rating 3.5/5: ½

So, I went to see The Longest Ride yesterday starring Scott Eastwood, Britt Robertson, Alan Alda, Jack Huston and Oona Chaplin. The film is based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks and was adapted for the screen by Craig Bolotin. It is directed by George Tillman Jr. Overall I thought it was a really enjoyable movie to watch because there was a lot to keep the audience entertained.

The movie is a romantic drama. Without giving too much away the basic plot of the film is about Sophia Danko [Britt Robertson], who is a senior in college in North Carolina. Her friend, Marcia [Melissa Benoist] drags her off to watch a rodeo, where she meets attractive bull rider, Luke Collins [Scott Eastwood]. After a car crash their lives get intertwined with an old man, Ira Levinson [Alan Alda] and we follow the love story of Sophia and Luke as well as getting flashbacks to a young Ira's [Jack Huston] and his wife Ruth's [Oona Chaplin] love story.

I thought the film was very well-paced. Sometimes with these kinds of films I find that the storyline drags on, but with this one I didn't feel like the love story of Sophia and Luke was to rushed, nor was it to slow. I liked the fact that there was a dramatic scene early on to keep people enthralled.

The relationship between Sophia and Luke is a really nice and cute love story. The love stories of Sophia and Luke and Ira and Ruth were both emotionally involving. I think the way they followed both couples simultaneously was done successfully because we were in suspense and wanted to know more about both of them. I liked the flashbacks to the old Jewish love story. Since I am Jewish myself it gave the movie a bit of a personal touch so that made it even more enjoyable! I think the movie has a strong message about making sacrifices for the person that you love because both couples have to sacrifice something in their life to be with their respective partners.

As far as special effects go there wasn't a lot in this film, but it's just your typical romance movie, so I kind of expected that walking into the cinema. If you're after a movie with stellar special effects then you'll probably be disappointed.

I've never seen anything with Scott Eastwood in it before and I saw Britt Robertson in Keeping Up With The Steins when she was about 16 years old. I thought they had good on screen chemistry together.   In general I thought the movie was very sweet and it was definitely dramatic! The only thing that stopped me giving the movie a 4 out of 5 was that I would've liked to see the character of Luke's mother, Kate [Lolita Davidovich] developed a bit more because in the film you can tell he is close to her. It is your standard romantic type movie but if you like films such as The Notebook and Dear John you'll most likely enjoy this one!

It's been a while!

Hey all! I know I have been neglecting STARDUST these past few months but the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015 were extremely busy ones for me. I started a new job, traveled overseas and unfortunately I had to deal with the loss of my beloved childhood dog, Lassie so to be honest my blog has been in the back of my mind until recently. Sometimes we all need time to regroup and that's what I have done. Never fear though because STARDUST is back with movie reviews and regular entertainment news from around the world!

In the meantime here is a little message from Arnold Schwarzenegger!
